Mission Statement
"Serving Authentic Japanese Ramen with Exceptional Speed and Revolutionizing the World's Food Culture"
History
We opened our family-owned restaurant with the goal of introducing traditional Japanese hibachi-style cooking to the Lowcountry, becoming one of the first establishments of its kind in the area.
The journey began in 1988 with the opening of our Murrells Inlet location, originally named Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse. In 1998, it evolved into Miyabi Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse, a name later adopted by our Charleston location when it opened the same year. In 2019, we rebranded to Hachiya Japanese Steakhouse.
Our passion for Japanese cuisine also inspired us to embark on the Hachiya Ramen journey. Driven by our love for authentic flavors, we traveled across Japan to study ramen and develop a genuine recipe. Despite the challenges in sourcing certain ingredients, we dedicated the past four years to perfecting our recipe to ensure the highest possible quality. Now, we want our guests to experience ramen just as it is enjoyed in Japan.
Concept/System
Our concept focuses on delivering exceptional speed without compromising on quality.
Customers place their orders at our kiosk, receive a number, and then take a seat. Once the food is ready, we bring it directly to their table. After they’ve finished, they can simply leave without the hassle of cleaning up.
